Visit with Santa

Mckay was a little shy at first but then quickly warmed up to Santa after a few hi fives. Checho (Santa's little helper) hooked us up with a great deal for working there - FREE! Mckay just wanted to look at Santa at first but didn't want to sit with him. Then, after the real photos were taken, Mckay kept going back to talk to Santa by himself as we were deciding on the photos. Mckay kept saying "Hi Santa, Hi Santa". It wasn't too busy so Santa was able to talk with Mckay for a while. Santa was awesome!! Mckay jumped up on his lap to get a candy cane and became best friends with Santa. As we were leaving Mckay kept saying, "Bye Santa, Bye Santa" as we walked away.

Goose Hunting

Brian shot his first goose last week. He had a blast! He went out with our good friend, Patrick up in Layton, UT. The goose had a leg and a neck band. For those that don't know, Brian explained to me that the leg band is rare to find on a goose or a duck and is like a trophy to hunters when they shoot a bird with a band. The band is to track the migration of the birds throughout the world. The neck band is almost unheard of and is something really, really rare. Brian was both surpised and excited to come home with this goose.

Soccer friends!!

Mckay loves soccer... and also his girlfriend. They played so well together, every game that Brian had (Brian came first in his soccer championship). They followed each other around... so cute.

Mckay's new bed & carols on sunday

Mckay finally got his own big boy bed. He loves it, although every once in a while he climbs into the crib to lay with his little brother.

The other night we heard a knock on the door and found a group of people dressed up singing Christmas carols. It was one of the coolest things ever because they had llamas! They were actually BYU students who rented the llamas for the day and decided to dress up and walk around Provo singing Christmas carols. Brian put Mckay in a jacket and ran out to see the llamas. Mckay kept making his horsey sounds as he pet the llamas (you can see this in the first photo). It was funny. Brian says that the brown llama even left a Christmas gift on our lawn. If you look at the second picture the llama is just beginning to squat a little to leave her present. Other than the parting gift it was really neatand Mckay loved it! He kept waiving bye and making the horse noises as the llamas walked down the street.

Halloween Fun

Halloween was full of excitement! I dressed up as a BYU football player, Brian was my referree, Mckay was a monkey, and JJ was a cute little frog. We started off with a Trunk or Treat at the women's shelter here in Provo. About 20 cars from our ward filled the parking lot at the women's shelter (it is hidden from the street, locked in with a gated door and very secure). It was a great experience to serve and help give these kids the same opportunity as others. Mckay went around collecting candy as well, that is until he found a football and wouldn't let it go. He forgot all about the candy after that. The kids really seemed to like it and a lot of people showed up from our ward making it that much better for all.

Afterwards we went Trick or Treating here in our neighborhood. With the first few doors Mckay was kind of confused and walked into the people's living room when they opened the door. On all of the houses that presented him with candy in a bowl, Mckay would carefully choose a candy and place it in his bag, one after another, until we stopped him. He wanted as much candy as he could get from each house. His favorite candy is a sucker. Whenever he had the chance to choose, he would dig through the bowl looking for a sucker. Sometimes he would pull out two or three. We had so much fun since Mckay really understood Halloween this year. He would make the "ooh, ooh, eeh, eeh" noises like a monkey and scratch his head whenever the people asked. He wanted to get JJ involved as well and helped push the stroller around the neighborhood. He does a good job at being the big brother. By the time we circled around the neighborhood, JJ was asleep and Mckay was poopedand ready for bed, even though he wanted to keep going. We came home, gave Mckay a bath and he was ready for bed. We all had a great time!!
